                               RESOLUTION

  Recognizing the roles and contributions of the men and women in the
     public safety community who operate unmanned aircraft systems.

Whereas the operation of unmanned aircraft systems in the national airspace
        system is rapidly increasing, which raises opportunities for public
        safety and government officials;
Whereas professional operators of such systems that are operating in the public
        safety arena must be highly trained and skilled to provide the necessary
        level of care to support their communities;
Whereas becoming such an operator requires completing the Federal Aviation
        Administration part 107, or acquiring a Federal Aviation Administration
        certificate of authorization; and
Whereas the purposes of ``National Unmanned Aircraft System Operator Public
        Safety Day'', celebrated on January 13, 2023, are--

    (1) to raise public awareness of the unquantifiable contributions of
the operators of unmanned aircraft systems acting in the best interest of
public safety in their communities; and

    (2) to promote greater respect and understanding for the proficiency
and commitment of operators of unmanned aircraft systems required to assist
law enforcement with successful support: Now, therefore, be it

    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) thanks operators of unmanned aircraft systems working
        in the area of public safety in the United States; and
            (2) promotes the profession by encouraging the public
        safety community and public officials to recognize ``National
        Unmanned Aircraft System Operator Public Safety Day''.
