                               RESOLUTION


 
Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to clarify that the 
  payment of a bail bond constitutes a gift for purposes of the Rules.

    Resolved,

SECTION 1. CLARIFICATION OF TREATMENT OF PAYMENT OF BAIL BOND AS GIFT.

    Clause 5(a)(2)(A) of rule XXV of the Rules of the House of 
Representatives is amended by striking the period at the end of the 
first sentence and inserting the following: ``, including making a 
payment for or otherwise guaranteeing the bail bond of another 
person.''.
