Ms. Malliotakis submitted the following resolution; which was referred
to the Committee on the Judiciary

RESOLUTION
Recognizing that allowing illegal immigrants and noncitizens the right
to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of
United States citizens.
Whereas voting is fundamental to a functioning democracy;
Whereas the Constitution prohibits discrimination in voting based on race, sex,
poll taxes, and age;
Whereas it is of paramount importance that the United States maintains the
legitimacy of its elections and protects them from interference,
including interference from foreign threats and illegal voting;
Whereas New York City, New York, has enacted a law in violation of the
Constitution to allow certain noncitizens who reside in New York City
for only 30 days to be eligible to vote in local elections for mayor,
city council, and others;
Whereas mayors incentivize the mass migration of tens of thousands of
individuals taking advantage of the Biden administration's open borders
by offering free housing and other services; and
Whereas the Constitution and Federal law prohibit noncitizens from voting in
elections for Federal office: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes that
allowing illegal immigrants and noncitizens the right to vote devalues
the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States
citizens.
