                               RESOLUTION

 Condemning the heinous actions of Hamas and affirming the support of
    the United States for Israel's right to exist and defend itself.

Whereas the State of Israel was established in 1948, following the adoption of
        the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine, and has since been
        recognized by the international community as a sovereign state;
Whereas Israel has faced numerous armed conflicts and terrorist attacks since
        its establishment, including the War of Independence from 1948 through
        1949, the Six-Day War in 1967, the Yom Kippur War in 1973, and repeated
        rocket attacks from terrorist organizations;
Whereas Israel has entered into peace agreements with neighboring countries
        including Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1993, and has engaged in peace
        negotiations with Palestinian leadership, indicating its willingness for
        peaceful coexistence;
Whereas the founding charter of Hamas, issued in 1988, advocated for the
        destruction of Israel and has utilized violent means for achieving a
        Palestinian state, underscoring the organization's long-standing
        hostility towards Israel and its inhabitants;
Whereas the United States and Israel share a long-standing friendship and
        alliance, rooted in shared values of democracy, human rights, and the
        rule of law;
Whereas Hamas terrorists crossed the land border and began slaughtering Israelis
        and abducting hostages in towns in southern Israel, including children
        and the elderly;
Whereas, on October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists launched a massive, unprovoked war
        on Israel by air, land, and sea, including firing thousands of rockets;
Whereas, since October 7, 2023, Hamas launched over 5,000 rockets into southern
        and central Israel;
Whereas, since October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists have killed over 1,300 Israelis
        and injured more than 3,000 others;
Whereas at least 22 United States citizens in Israel are among those killed by
        Hamas since October 7, 2023;
Whereas, since October 7, 2023, Hamas is directly responsible for the deaths of
        hundreds of Palestinians;
Whereas, on October 7, there has not been more Jewish deaths in one day since
        the Holocaust;
Whereas, on October 10, 2023, Israel confirmed that Hamas terrorists slaughtered
        40 infants; and
Whereas Hamas is a United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, European Union, and
        the United Kingdom-designated foreign terrorist organization: Now,
        therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) undisputedly reaffirms Israel's right to exist;
            (2) fully supports Israel's right to self-defense;
            (3) ardently condemns Hamas' brutal war against Israel;
            (4) calls on the international community to unequivocally
        condemn Hamas' brutal war against Israel; and
            (5) urges the international community to support Israel and
        call out any and all forms of antisemitism.
