Mr. Krishnamoorthi submitted the following resolution; which was
referred to the Committee on Oversight and Accountability

RESOLUTION
Expressing the great contributions to American society by Indian-
American communities and the graduates of the Indian Institutes of
Technology in the United States.
Whereas the presence of Indian-American residents deeply enriches the United
States;
Whereas the Indian-American community and the graduates of the Indian Institutes
of Technology (IIT) in the United States have made valuable and
significant contributions to society across many professions and
disciplines;
Whereas the United States President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., and Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi affirmed a vision of the United States and India
as among the closest partners in the world in a joint statement on June
22, 2023;
Whereas in that statement the two nations affirmed that technology will play the
defining role in deepening the partnership between these two democracies
in the 21st century; and
Whereas IIT graduates are highly committed and dedicated to research,
innovation, and promotion of trade and international cooperation between
India and the United States: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives to--
(1) recognize the valuable and significant contributions of
Indian Americans to American society;
(2) honor the technology, scientific, and economic
innovation attributable to graduates of the Indian Institutes
of Technology; and
(3) urge all Americans to recognize the contributions of
Indian Americans and to appreciate the role Indian Americans
have played in helping to advance and enrich American society.
