A BILL
To authorize the payment of a travel or transportation allowance for a
member of the uniformed services to travel to obtain professional
development training only if such training relates to the military
occupational specialty of the member and not to the sex, sexual
orientation, race, or religion of the member.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Banning Overspending On Non-Defense
Objectives at Gratuitous Gatherings and Learning Events Act'' or the
``BOONDOGGLE Act''.
SEC. 2. LIMITATIONS ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAVEL AND
TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES.
Section 453 of title 37, United States Code, is amended by adding
at the end the following new subsection:
``(j) Limitations on Professional Development Travel and
Transportation Allowances.--A travel or transportation allowance may be
provided under this subchapter for a member of the uniformed services
to travel to obtain professional development training only if such
training--
``(1) relates to the military occupational specialty of the
member; and
``(2) does not include activities or events--
``(A) related to the sexual orientation of the
member; or
``(B) that promote the sex, race, or religion of
the member as superior or inferior to another sex,
race, or religion.''.
