                                 A BILL


 
 To amend title 40, United States Code, to increase the mileage of the 
 Appalachian Development Highway System to provide for improvements to 
 and expansion of Corridor K in North Carolina, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. APPALACHIAN DEVELOPMENT HIGHWAY SYSTEM.

    (a) In General.--Section 14501(a) of title 40, United States Code, 
is amended, in the second sentence, by striking ``three thousand and 
ninety miles'' and inserting ``3,105 miles''.
    (b) Purpose.--The increase in mileage to the Appalachian 
Development Highway System made by the amendment made by subsection (a) 
shall be for improvements to and expansion of Corridor K in North 
Carolina.
