A BILL
To require a report by the Secretary of Homeland Security regarding the
failed assassination attempt on the life of Donald J. Trump in Butler,
Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
<DELETED>SECTION 1. REPORT REGARDING FAILED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON
THE LIFE OF DONALD J. TRUMP.</DELETED>
<DELETED> Not later than 7 days after the date of enactment of this
Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit a report that
contains any and all information in the possession of the Department of
Homeland Security or any of its components, including the United States
Secret Service, relating to the failed assassination attempt on the
life of Donald J. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, to--

<DELETED> (1) the Committee on Homeland Security and
Governmental Affairs of the Senate; and</DELETED>
<DELETED> (2) the Committee on Oversight and Accountability
and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of
Representatives.</DELETED>
SECTION 1. REPORT REGARDING FAILED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS ON THE LIFE
OF DONALD J. TRUMP.
(a) In General.--Notwithstanding the information already provided
by the Secretary of Homeland Security to the appropriate congressional
committees, not later than 7 days after the date of enactment of this
Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or a designee, shall submit to
the appropriate congressional committees a report that contains any and
all information in the possession of the Department of Homeland
Security or any of its components, including the United States Secret
Service, relating to the failed assassination attempts on the life of
Donald J. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, and in West
Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024, including--
(1) the motives, methods, and actions of the suspects;
(2) requests for additional resources or protective
measures for Donald J. Trump or his campaign;
(3) preparations for the event in Butler, Pennsylvania, by
the United States Secret Service and other law enforcement
entities; and
(4) responses by United States Secret Service and other law
enforcement entities to the attempted assassinations.
(b) Form.--The report required under subsection (a) shall be
submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
(c) Definition.--In this section, the term ``appropriate
congressional committees'' means--
(1) the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental
Affairs and the Committee on the Judiciary of the Senate; and
(2) the Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on
the Judiciary, and the Task Force on the Attempted
Assassination of Donald J. Trump of the House of
Representatives.
(d) Rule of Construction.--Nothing in this Act shall be construed
to require that Congress enact legislation to require the executive
branch to expeditiously comply with official requests for information
made by a Member of the Senate or House of Representatives, or the
staff of such a Member.
Amend the title so as to read: ``A bill to require a report
by the Secretary of Homeland Security regarding the failed
assassination attempts on the life of Donald J. Trump in
Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, and in West Palm Beach,
Florida, on September 15, 2024.''.
