annually on January 13th in recognition of the first group of Korean
immigrants who arrived in the United States on that date in 1903.
In 2003, President George W. Bush became the first to proclaim
January 13th as Korean American Day, which went on to be officially
recognized by the United States Congress in 2005. North Texas is
blessed to be home to a large and vibrant Korean American population.
On this day, we also celebrate the history, achievements, and
contributions of our Korean American community.
