Dove) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the
Committee on Agriculture, and in addition to the Committee on Education
and Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the
Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall
within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL
To prohibit the reduction, elimination, or suspension of funding for
land-grant colleges and universities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. PROHIBITION ON REDUCTION, ELIMINATION, OR SUSPENSION OF
FUNDING FOR LAND-GRANT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
(a) In General.--The Secretary of Agriculture, or any other Federal
official, may not take any action to reduce, eliminate, or suspend
funding for land-grant colleges and universities, unless such
reduction, elimination, or suspension is specifically authorized by an
Act of Congress.
(b) Land-Grant Colleges and Universities Defined.--In this section,
the term ``land-grant colleges and universities'' has the meaning given
such term in section 1404 of the National Agricultural Research,
Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 (7 U.S.C. 3103).
