following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL
To increase penalties for child pornography.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Holding Child Predators Accountable
Act''.
SEC. 2. POSSESSION OF CHILD PORN.
(a) Obscenity.--Section 1466A of title 18, United States Code, is
amended--
(1) in subsection (a), by striking ``shall be subject to
the penalties provided in section 2252A(b)(1), including the
penalties provided for cases involving a prior conviction'' and
inserting ``shall be fined and punished by death or imprisoned
for life''; and
(2) in subsection (b), by striking ``shall be subject to
the penalties provided in section 2252A(b)(2), including the
penalties provided for cases involving a prior conviction'' and
inserting ``shall be fined and punished by death or imprisoned
for life''.
(b) Exploitation Material.--Subsection (b) of section 2252 of title
18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:
``(b) Whoever violates, or attempts or conspires to violate
paragraph (1), (2), (3), or (4) of subsection (a) shall be fined and
punished by death or imprisoned for life.''.
(c) Pornography Material.--Subsection (b) of section 2252A of title
18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:
``(b) Whoever violates, or attempts or conspires to violate
paragraph (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), or (7) of subsection (a) shall
be fined and punished by death or imprisoned for life.''.
