Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``District of Columbia Local Juror Non-Discrimination Act of 2025''. SEC. 2. EXCLUSION FROM DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA JURIES ON ACCOUNT OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY PROHIBITED. (a) Prohibiting Discrimination.--Section 11-1903, District of Columbia Official Code, is amended-- (1) by striking ``A citizen'' and inserting ``(a) A citizen''; and (2) by adding at the end the following new subsection: ``(b) In subsection (a), the term `sex'-- ``(1) includes-- ``(A) a sex stereotype; ``(B) pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition; ``(C) sexual orientation (defined as homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality) or gender identity; and ``(D) sex characteristics, including intersex traits; and ``(2) when used with respect to an individual, includes-- ``(A) the sex of another person with whom the individual is associated or has been associated; and ``(B) a perception or belief, even if inaccurate, concerning the sex of the individual.''. (b) No Effect on Other Remedies.--Section 11-1910(c), District of Columbia Official Code, is amended-- (1) by striking ``(c) The procedures'' and inserting ``(c)(1) The procedures''; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: ``(2) In paragraph (1), the term `sex'-- ``(A) includes-- ``(i) a sex stereotype; ``(ii) pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition; ``(iii) sexual orientation (defined as homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality) or gender identity; and ``(iv) sex characteristics, including intersex traits; and ``(B) when used with respect to an individual, includes-- ``(i) the sex of another person with whom the individual is associated or has been associated; and ``(ii) a perception or belief, even if inaccurate, concerning the sex of the individual.''. <all>
