Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Commission of Fine Arts District of Columbia Residency Act''. SEC. 2. REQUIRING MAJORITY OF MEMBERS OF COMMISSION OF FINE ARTS TO BE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA RESIDENTS. (a) Requirement.--Section 9101(b) of title 40, United States Code, is amended by striking ``appointed by the President, who serve'' and inserting ``a majority of whom are residents of the District of Columbia, who shall be appointed by the President to serve''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect upon the expiration of the 1-year period which begins on the date of the enactment of this Act. <all>
