IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Ms. DelBene (for herself, Ms. Jayapal, Mr. Larsen of Washington, Ms.
Perez, Mr. Newhouse, Ms. Randall, Ms. Schrier, Mr. Smith of Washington,
Ms. Strickland, and Mr. Baumgartner) submitted the following
resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight and
Government Reform

RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Seattle Seahawks for winning Super Bowl LX and the
12th Man for their unwavering support.
Whereas, on February 8, 2026, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England
Patriots by a score of 29-13 to capture their second Super Bowl title in
franchise history;
Whereas head coach Mike Macdonald is the first head coach who also calls
defensive plays to win a Super Bowl and the third youngest head coach to
win a Super Bowl in National Football League (NFL) history;
Whereas Seahawks General Manager (GM) John Schneider is the only GM in NFL
history to win two Super Bowls with two completely different rosters;
Whereas running back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl LX Most Valuable
Player after rushing 27 times for 135 yards, becoming the first running
back to earn Super Bowl MVP honors since 1998;
Whereas kicker Jason Myers set a new Super Bowl record by converting five field
goals, scoring a total of 17 points and becoming the first player in NFL
history to exceed 200 points in a season (regular and postseason
combined);
Whereas quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 202 yards with one touchdown and no
interceptions;
Whereas the Seahawks' defense recorded six sacks, forced three turnovers, and
dominated throughout, holding the Patriots scoreless for three quarters;
Whereas the Seahawks scored a key offensive touchdown on a 16-yard pass to tight
end AJ Barner following a Patriots fumble early in the fourth quarter;
Whereas linebacker Uchenna Nwosu returned an interception 45 yards for a
touchdown, helping to seal the Seahawks' victory;
Whereas Washington State proudly recognizes Cooper Kupp and Shane Lemieux of
Yakima, and Abraham Lucas of Everett, whose exceptional talent and
dedication on the field reflect the talent, determination, and character
nurtured in our communities;
Whereas Cooper Kupp, from Yakima, Washington, and graduate of Davis High School
and Eastern Washington University, has distinguished himself as one of
the NFL's premier wide receivers and a Super Bowl MVP;
Whereas Abraham Lucas, born and raised in Everett, Washington, and a graduate of
Archbishop Murphy High School and Washington State University, has
become a key contributor on the Seahawks' offensive line, showcasing
talent developed in our State's communities and schools;
Whereas Shane Lemieux, from Yakima, Washington, and graduate of West Valley High
School and the University of Oregon, has distinguished himself as an
accomplished NFL offensive lineman; and
Whereas, in December 1984, the Seahawks retired the number 12 in honor of their
fan base, the loudest, proudest and most impactful group of fans in
sports, which is known as the ``12s'': Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
(1) Congratulates--
(A) the Seattle Seahawks for their triumphant
victory in Super Bowl LX and acknowledges the
exceptional performances of players, coaches, and
support staff;
(B) Seahawks Chair Jody Allen;
(C) Seahawks President Chuck Arnold;
(D) Seahawks President of Football Operations/
General Manager John Schneider; and
(E) Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald;
(2) Recognizes Kenneth Walker III for his MVP performance
and historic impact on the game;
(3) Commends Jason Myers for his record-breaking five field
goals and outstanding scoring achievement;
(4) Salutes the Seahawks' defense for its dominance,
resilience, and pivotal role in securing the championship;
(5) Celebrates the Seahawks 12th Man, for being the most
loyal and loudest sports fans in the world; and
(6) Requests that the Clerk of the House transmit an
enrolled copy of this resolution to--
(A) Seahawks Chair Jody Allen;
(B) Seahawks President Chuck Arnoldi;
(C) Seahawks President of Football Operations/
General Manager John Schneider; and
(D) Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald.
