                                 A BILL


 
 To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize fellowships under 
    the Minority Fellowship Program to be awarded for training for 
             professionals in the addiction medicine field.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Improving Access to Addiction 
Medicine Providers Act''.

SEC. 2. MINORITY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM.

    Section 597 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 290ll) is 
amended--
            (1) in subsection (a)(1), by inserting ``diagnosis,'' after 
        ``related to''; and
            (2) in subsection (b), by inserting ``addiction medicine,'' 
        after ``psychiatry,''.
