Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. CAMPING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. (a) Definition.--In this section, the term ``camp'' means to use any material to set up, maintain, or establish a temporary place of abode. (b) Offense.--It shall be unlawful in the District of Columbia to camp on public property. (c) Penalty.--Any person who violates subsection (b) shall be fined not more than $500, imprisoned for not more than 30 days, or both. <all>
