A BILL
To provide for continuing appropriations for Head Start programs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Keep Head Start Funded Act of
2025''.
SEC. 2. CONTINUING APPROPRIATIONS FOR HEAD START.
There are hereby appropriated for fiscal year 2026, out of any
money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for any period during
which interim or full-year appropriations for fiscal year 2026 are not
in effect, such sums as are necessary for carrying out without
interruption, under the authority and conditions provided for in
division A of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions
Act, 2025 (Public Law 119-4), all projects or activities under the Head
Start Act that were conducted in fiscal year 2025, and for which
appropriations were made available by the Full-Year Continuing
Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025.
SEC. 3. TERMINATION.
Appropriations and funds made available and authority granted
pursuant to this Act shall be available until whichever of the
following first occurs:
(1) The enactment into law of an appropriation (including a
continuing appropriation) for any purpose for which amounts are
made available in section 2.
(2) The enactment into law of the regular or continuing
appropriations resolution or other Act for the Department of
Health and Human Services without any appropriation for such
purpose.
(3) September 30, 2026.
SEC. 4. CHARGE TO FUTURE APPROPRIATIONS.
Expenditures made pursuant to this Act shall be charged to the
applicable appropriation, fund, or authorization whenever a bill in
which such applicable appropriation, fund, or authorization is
contained is enacted into law.
SEC. 5. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Act shall take effect as if enacted on September 30, 2025.
