consideration of H.J. Res. 20, providing for congressional disapproval 
under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted 
by the Department of Energy relating to ``Energy Conservation Program: 
Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Gas-Fired Instantaneous 
Water Heaters'', after agreeing to the motion to proceed.

Chair announced, on behalf of the Democratic Leader, pursuant to the 
provisions of Public Law 106-398, as amended by Public Law 108-7, and 
in consultation with the Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on 
Armed Services and the Senate Committee on Finance, the appointment of 
the following individual to serve as a member of the United States-
China Economic and Security Review Commission: Livia Shmavonian of the 
District of Columbia for a term beginning January 1, 2025 and expiring 
December 31, 2026 vice Kimberly T. Glass of Virginia.
