Amendment sought to require a buffer zone of 100 feet on each side of all anadromous fish streams in the Tongass National Forest; prohibit logging within such buffer zones; and include buffer zone maintenance along all tributaries of anadromous streams in accordance with the best management practices for water quality.

Purpose:

An amendment to direct the Secretary to maintain a minimum buffer zone of 100 feet on each side of all anadromous fish streams in the Tongass National Forest; to prohibit logging within such buffer zones; and, to direct the Secretary to include buffer zone maintenance along all tributaries of streams containing anadromous fish in accordance with the best management practices for water quality.
