Amendments provide that funds appropriated for land acquisition for the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and for continued renovation and construction of the East Court Building project of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History may not be made available until enactment of authorizing legislation.

Purpose:

An amendment comprised of two amendments offered en bloc to provide that certain funds earmarked in the bill for Smithsonian Institution projects may not be made available until authorizing legislation has been enacted. The funds that would be affected by the amendment are $300,000 earmarked for land acquisition for the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and $10 million earmarked for construction of the East Court at the National Museum of Natural History.
