Amendment sought to reduce the appropriation made for certain legislative branch overhead expenses by 10 percent. \ A point of order was sustained against the amendment on the grounds that it violated clause 2 of rule XXI in that it proposed to change existing law and constituted legislation in an appropriations bill.
An amendment to cut by 10% the bill's appropriation for legislative branch overhead expenses. The amendment does not apply to the appropriations for official mail, official expenses of Members, and committees (standing, special and select).
