Amendment makes technical changes to further clarify who owns the termination interest in a copyrighted work when an author passes away, and provides for the proper transfer of contractual obligations when a copyright is transferred.

Purpose:

An amendment to clarify language regarding the rights to ownership of a copyrighted work if the author dies without heirs. The amendment also states that a transfer of copyright ownership must recognize the original contractual obligations regarding residuals owed to writers, directors, and performers. The amendment would also make certain technical corrections to the bill.
