IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES October 24, 1989 Mr. BRUCE introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means A BILL To change the tariff treatment of certain brooms wholly or in part of broom corn. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. BROOMS. Chapter 96 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (19 U.S.C. 3007) is amended-- (1) by inserting `wholly or in part' after `Whiskbrooms,' in the superior article description for subheading 9603.10.10; and (2) by inserting `wholly or in part' after `brooms,' in the superior article description for subheading 9603.10.40. SEC. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. The amendments made by this Act shall apply with respect to articles entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after the date that is 15 days after the date of enactment of this Act.
