A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to make improvements in veterans'
health-care programs, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE; REFERENCES TO TITLE 38, UNITED STATES CODE.
(a) SHORT TITLE- This Act may be cited as the `Veterans' Health-Care
Amendments of 1990'.
(b) REFERENCES TO TITLE 38- Except as otherwise expressly provided, whenever
in this Act an amendment or repeal is expressed in terms of an amendment to,
or repeal of, a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered
to be made to a section or other provision of title 38, United States Code.
TITLE I--HEALTH-CARE BENEFITS
[Struck out->] SEC. 101. DENTAL BENEFITS. [] (a) Section 612(b)(1) is amended-- [] (1) by striking out `or' at the end of subparagraph (F);
[] (2) by striking out the period at the end of subparagraph
(G); and [] (3) by adding at the end the following new subparagraphs:
[] `(H) from which a veteran of World War I is suffering; or
[] `(I) medically necessary in preparation for hospital
admission or for a veteran otherwise receiving care or services under this
chapter.'. [] (b) Section 612(b)(3) is amended-- [] (1) by striking `$500' and inserting in lieu thereof
`$1,000'; and [] (2) by adding at the end the following: `The Secretary may
periodically review the cost of dental care to determine whether the dollar
ceiling contained in this paragraph remains appropriate to carry out the
purposes of this paragraph and may adjust that ceiling, as the Secretary
determines necessary.'. [] SEC. 102. [] SEC. 403. FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR COLLOCATION AGREEMENTS. [] Section 230(c) is amended-- [] (1) by redesignating paragraph (7) as paragraph (8); and
[] (2) by inserting after paragraph (6) the following new
paragraph (7): [] `(7) The Secretary may pay the expenses of leases under this
subsection for any fiscal year using funds available to the Secretary for that
fiscal year for general operating expenses of the Department.'. [
