IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES JULY 23, 1991 Mr. MONTGOMERY (by request) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs A BILL To amend title 38, United States Code, to limit the apportionment of benefits paid by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. LIMITATION ON APPORTIONMENT OF VETERANS BENEFITS. Section 5301(a) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by inserting `(1)' after `(a)' and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: `(2) No apportionment of benefits due or to become due under any law administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs shall be made to or on behalf of any spouse or child of a veteran except as provided in section 3107 of this title.'.
