R. 1068 To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the limitations on the number of taxpayers who may have medical savings accounts. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES March 13, 1997 Mr. Lipinski (for himself, Mr. Costello, and Mr. Poshard) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the limitations on the number of taxpayers who may have medical savings accounts. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. REPEAL OF LIMITATIONS ON NUMBER OF TAXPAYERS HAVING MEDICAL SAVINGS ACCOUNTS. (a) In General.--Subsections (i) and (j) of section 220 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to medical savings accounts) are hereby repealed. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act. <all>
