R. 3873 To amend the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to simplify program operations and improve program management under that Act. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES May 14, 1998 Mr. Castle (for himself and Mr. Riggs) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Education and the Workforce _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to simplify program operations and improve program management under that Act. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. STATE ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES. (a) Elimination of 10 Percent Transfer Limitation.--Section 7(a)(6) of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (42 U.S.C. 1776(a)(6)) is amended to read as follows: ``(6) Funds available to States under this subsection and under section 13(k)(1) of the National School Lunch Act may be used by State agencies for the costs of administration of the programs authorized under this Act (except for the programs authorized under sections 17 and 21) and the National School Lunch Act without regard to the basis on which such funds were earned and allocated.''. (b) Reauthorization of Program.--Section 7(g) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 1776(g)) is amended by striking ``1998'' and inserting ``2003''. <all>
