  the presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal to Nelson Mandela.

 Mr. D'Amato submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was 
         referred to the Committee on Rules and Administration

                         CONCURRENT RESOLUTION


 
 Authorizing the use of the Capitol Rotunda on September 23, 1998, for 
  the presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal to Nelson Mandela.

    Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), 
That the rotunda of the United States Capitol is authorized to be used 
on September 23, 1998, for the presentation of the Congressional Gold 
Medal to Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. Physical preparations for the 
conduct of the ceremony shall be carried out in accordance with such 
conditions as may be prescribed by the Architect of the Capitol.
