Passed House amended (12/18/2001)

True American Heroes Act - Authorizes the President to present on behalf of Congress a gold medal to the next of kin or other representative of each officer, emergency worker, or employee of a State and local government agency, including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and of the Federal Government, who responded to the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, and perished in the tragic events of September 11, 2001 (including those who are missing and presumed dead).

Authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to strike and sell bronze duplicates. Requires the proceeds from such sale to be deposited in a fund to be used to erect a memorial for the fallen emergency responders.

Expresses the sense of Congress that the medals: (1) should be designed, struck, and presented within 90 days after enactment of this Act; and (2) be struck at the U.S. Mint at West Point, New York, to the greatest extent possible.

Authorizes the President to award posthumously, on behalf of Congress and in recognition of heroic service to the Nation, gold medals to any passengers or crew members on board United Airlines Flight 93 who are identified by the Attorney General as having aided in the effort to resist the hijackers on board the plane.

Authorizes the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates.
