Condemns the July 2004 murder of American journalist Paul Klebnikov in Moscow and the murders of other members of the media in the Russian Federation.
Commends: (1) the Russian Prosecutor General's office for its continuing investigation of Mr. Klebnikov's murder; and (2) all journalists working and living in Russia for their dedication to transparency and the truth.
Urges the government of Russia to: (1) continue inquiries to determine and bring to justice all parties involved in Mr. Klebnikov's murder; (2) accept offers of investigative assistance from the United States and other concerned governments; and (3) protect the independence and freedom of the Russian media and all visiting members of the media.
