Expresses that the Senate has heard with profound sorrow and deep regret the announcement of the death of Nobel Laureate Jack St. Clair Kilby, inventor of the integrated circuit (known today as the microchip) and an innovative leader in the Information Age and commends Mr. Kilby for his pioneering work in the fields of engineering and electronics, which laid the foundation for the technological advances of the 20th and 21st centuries.
