Directs and authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior to jointly provide for a study of a Southern Appalachian Slope National Recreation Area at a specified location on the southern slope of the Appalachian highlands in areas of the States of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
Requires a report to the Congress on the feasibility of the establishment of such an area, and of the estimated costs thereof.
Authorizes the appropriation of sums necessary to carry out this Act.
