Farm Production Protection Act of 1979 - Repeals the Federal Crop Insurance Act. Empowers the Commodity Credit Corporation, commencing with farm production for 1981, to insure agricultural producers for up to 90 percent of the cost of production of a specified product against losses due to unavoidable or natural causes.
Authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to appoint an advisory committee to assist in the development of protection programs.
Transfers the assets of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation to the Commodity Credit Corporation.
