                        MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE


                         Enrolled Bills Signed

  At 10:16 a.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the Speaker has 
signed the following enrolled bills:

       S. 404. An act to modify a land grant patent issued by the 
     Secretary of the Interior.
       S. 684. An act to provide for the conveyance of certain 
     parcels of land to the town of Alta, Utah.
       S. 997. An act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior 
     to extend a water contract between the United States and the 
     East Bench Irrigation District.

  The enrolled bills were subsequently signed by the President pro 
tempore (Mr. Inouye).

  At 2:36 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bills, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 2578. An act to amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act 
     related to a segment of the Lower Merced River in California, 
     and for other purposes.
       H.R. 2938. An act to prohibit certain gaming activities on 
     certain Indian lands in Arizona.

  At 4:27 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mr. Novotny, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bill, with amendment, in which it requests the 
concurrence of the Senate:

       S. 3187. An act to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and 
     Cosmetic Act to revise and extend the user-fee programs for 
     prescription drugs and medical devices, to establish user-fee 
     programs for generic drugs and biosimilars, and for other 
     purposes.
