        CONGRESSIONAL AWARD PROGRAM REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2018

  Mr. THOMPSON of Pennsylvania. Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to 
take from the Speaker's table the bill (S. 3509) to reauthorize the 
Congressional Award Act, and ask for its immediate consideration in the 
House.
  The Clerk read the title of the bill.
  The SPEAKER pro tempore. Is there objection to the request of the 
gentleman from Pennsylvania?
  There was no objection.
  The text of the bill is as follows:

       Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of 
     the United States of America in Congress assembled,

     SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

       This Act may be cited as the ``Congressional Award Program 
     Reauthorization Act of 2018''.

     SEC. 2. TERMINATION.

       (a) In General.--Section 108 of the Congressional Award Act 
     (2 U.S.C. 808) is amended by striking ``October 1, 2018'' and 
     inserting ``October 1, 2023''.
       (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) 
     shall take effect on October 1, 2018.

  The bill was ordered to be read a third time, was read the third 
time, and passed, and a motion to reconsider was laid on the table.
