                     EXECUTIVE CALENDAR--Continued

  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Under the previous order, the Senate will 
proceed to executive session and resume consideration of the following 
nomination, which the clerk will report.
  The legislative clerk read the nomination of Mitchell Zais, of South 
Carolina, to be Deputy Secretary of Education.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Under the previous order, all time is expired.
  The question is, Will the Senate advise and consent to the Zais 
nomination?
