     RESIGNATION AS MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND LABOR

  The SPEAKER pro tempore laid before the House the following 
resignation as a member of the Committee on Education and Labor:

                                     House of Representatives,

                                 Washington, DC, January 23, 2019.
     Hon. Nancy Pelosi,
     Speaker of the House of Representatives,
     Washington DC.
       Dear Speaker Pelosi: Thank you for appointing me to the 
     House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. I am 
     writing you to formally ask to resign from the House 
     Committee on Education and Labor during the 116th Congress. I 
     would like to take leave from and reserve my right to return 
     to the House Education and Labor Committee in a future term.
       Thank you for your leadership, and I look forward to 
     working together to preserve the health of our democracy and 
     strengthen economic prosperity for hardworking Americans 
     across the country.
