                               MEMORIALS

  Under clause 3 of rule XII, memorials were presented and referred as 
follows:

       4. The SPEAKER presented a memorial of the House of 
     Representatives of the State of Maine, relative to H.P. 280 
     Joint Resolution, requesting that the United States Congress 
     take immediate steps to reach a compromise and end the 
     partial shutdown of the Federal Government and restore 
     financial security to the live of citizens; to the Committee 
     on Oversight and Reform.
       5. Also, a memorial of the Senate of the State of 
     Louisiana, relative to Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 52, 
     requesting the Congress of the United States call a 
     convention of the states to propose amendments to the 
     Constitution of the United States; to the Committee on the 
     Judiciary.
