  The SPEAKER pro tempore laid before the House the following 
communication from Tiayana Walker, Staff Member, the Honorable Maxine 
Waters, Member of Congress:

       Dear Madam Speaker: This is to notify you formally, 
     pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of 
     Representatives, that I have been served with a subpoena for 
     testimony as a witness in a criminal trial issued by the 
     United States District Court for the Northern District of New 
     York.
       After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I 
     will make the determinations required by Rule VIII.
