[Page S2483] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE ______ REQUEST FOR THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE ARMS TRADE TREATY, SENATE TREATY DOC 114-14, TRANSMITTED DECEMBER 6, 2016--PM 11 The PRESIDING OFFICER laid before the Senate the following message from the President of the United States, together with an accompanying report, which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations: To the Senate of the United States: I have concluded that it is not in the interest of the United States to become a party to the Arms Trade Treaty (Senate Treaty Doc. 114-14, transmitted December 9, 2016). I have, therefore, decided to withdraw the aforementioned treaty from the Senate and accordingly request that it be returned to me. Donald J. Trump.
