RECOGNIZING ROCK FALLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ON THEIR 150TH
                              ANNIVERSARY

                                 ______

                           HON. CHERI BUSTOS

                              of illinois

                    in the house of representatives

                        Thursday, July 25, 2019

Mrs. BUSTOS. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize the 150th
anniversary of Rock Falls United Methodist Church as they honor August
6, 2019 as ``Rock Falls United Methodist Church Day'' in the city. On
this occasion, I extend my immense gratitude to Reverend Dr. Solomon
Sudhaker, the proud leader of this congregation.
Rock Falls United Methodist Church has grown tremendously since its
origins in 1869 as the first church in the City of Rock Falls. Since
then, it has become an integral part of the city of Rock Falls. In the
last 150 years, the church has undergone many transformations--from
sharing the wisdom of several different Pastors through the years, to
rising from the ashes of a 1922 fire, to the addition of the Education
Wing in 1961. The church has prospered and has always remained true to
its core mission and values. Rock Falls United Methodist Church has
gone above and beyond to enrich our community through their commitment
to education, youth and faith.
Madam Speaker, I would once again like to congratulate Rock Falls
United Methodist Church on their 150th anniversary. I am proud to know
that organizations, such as Rock Falls United Methodist Church,
continue to flourish and strengthen our community.
