                    HONORING MENDOCINO COAST CLINICS

                                 ______

                           HON. JARED HUFFMAN

                             of california

                    in the house of representatives

                        Thursday, July 25, 2019

Mr. HUFFMAN. Madam Speaker, I rise today in recognition of Mendocino
Coast Clinics on the 25th anniversary of their founding. Since 1994,
Mendocino Coast Clinics has provided quality, patient-centered
affordable health care.
Originally part of Mendocino County Public Health Services, a group
of volunteers came together to form the nonprofit that established
Mendocino Coast Clinics on July 1, 1994. That original group became the
first board of directors of the new health center, which served 2,500
patients with a staff of seven. Today, Mendocino Coast Clinics serves
more than 10,000 patients and is the third-largest employer in the city
of Fort Bragg.
Mendocino Coast Clinics provided behavioral health services to the
medical services when its doors opened in 1994, and expanded to provide
much-needed dental services in 1996. Throughout the past 25 years,
Mendocino Coast Clinics has continued to fill medical services gaps in
the Fort Bragg and surrounding communities, including obstetrics,
pediatrics, and a confidential reproductive health care clinic for
teens and young adults. Today, Mendocino Coast Clinics continues to
provide these comprehensive services to the community.
Madam Speaker, Mendocino Coast Clinics has for 25 years been a
tireless champion for health care in coastal Mendocino County, meeting
the needs of the community's most vulnerable populations. Therefore,
please join me in recognizing this valuable organization and wishing
them success for many more years to come.
