                    in the house of representatives

                        Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Mr. RIGGLEMAN. Madam Speaker, I rise to honor Jim McCulley of the
U.S. Air Force who passed away this spring. Lieutenant Colonel McCulley
was a decorated fighter pilot who flew over 100 combat missions in the
Korean Conflict and was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses.
After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Jim returned
home to Virginia where he continued his life of service to his country,
this time working as an engineer supporting the Gemini and Apollo space
programs.
In his tireless service to our nation Jim McCulley was, and is, an
American hero. He has been a valuable member of our 5th District
community and we miss him greatly. It is my hope that we here in this
chamber remember his work, his legacy, and his service.
