Mr. KELLY of Mississippi. Madam Speaker, I rise today to celebrate
the life of Robert Spencer Herring, who passed away on Monday, August
5th at the age of 79.
Robert, a lifelong resident of Guntown, Mississippi, dedicated his
life to bettering his community.
He served Lee County as both the Justice Court Judge and the Sheriff
for two terms. Robert was also a former Mayor of Guntown. He and his
wife, Jo Ann, attended Guntown First Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jo Ann Robison Herring of
Guntown; his sons--Barry Herring of Hattiesburg and Darren Herring of
Guntown; his six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren as well as many
more family members and friends.
Robert's life was one of service, grace, love for his family, and
community. He will be greatly missed by all whom he encountered.
