                        MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE

  At 10:17 a.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bills, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 1420. An act to amend the Energy Independence and 
     Security Act of 2007 to promote energy efficiency via 
     information and computing technologies, and for other 
     purposes.
       H.R. 1760. An act to require the Secretary of Energy to 
     establish and carry out a program to support the availability 
     of HA-LEU for domestic commercial use, and for other 
     purposes.
       H.R. 1768. An act to reauthorize subtitle G of title VII of 
     the Energy Policy Act of 2005, relating to diesel emissions 
     reduction, and for other purposes.
       H.R. 2114. An act to amend the Energy Policy and 
     Conservation Act to provide Federal financial assistance to 
     States to implement, review, and revise State energy security 
     plans, and for other purposes.

  The message also announced that pursuant to section 4 of the United 
States Semiquincentennial Commission Act of 2016 (Public Law 114-196), 
the Minority Leader appoints the following member to the United States 
Semiquincentennial Commission: Mr. Robert A. Brady of Philadelphia, 
Pennsylvania.
  At 2:16 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mr. Novotny, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bill, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 2500. An act to authorize appropriations for fiscal 
     year 2020 for military activities of the Department of 
     Defense, for military construction, and for defense 
     activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military 
     personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other 
     purposes.

  At 5:14 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mr. Novotny, one of its reading clerks, announced that the Speaker 
has signed the following enrolled bill:

       H.R. 831. An act to direct the Secretary of Transportation 
     to request nominations for and make determinations regarding 
     roads to be designated under the national scenic byways 
     program, and for other purposes.
