 REQUESTING RETURN OF S. 1790, NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR 
                            FISCAL YEAR 2020

  The SPEAKER pro tempore laid before the House the following 
privileged message from the Senate:

       Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate be directed to 
     request the House of Representatives to return to the Senate 
     the bill (S. 1790) entitled ``An Act to authorize 
     appropriations for fiscal year 2020 for military activities 
     of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and 
     for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to 
     prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, 
     and for other purposes.''.

  The SPEAKER pro tempore. Without objection, the request of the Senate 
is agreed to, and S. 1790 will be returned to the Senate.
  There was no objection.
