                         MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSE

  At 3:03 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mr. Novotny, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bills, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 1815. An act to require the Security and Exchange 
     Commission, when developing rules and regulations about 
     disclosures to retail investors, to conduct investor testing, 
     including a survey and interviews of retail investors, and 
     for other purposes.
       H.R. 3624. An act to amend the Securities Exchange Act of 
     1934 to require the disclosure of the total number of 
     domestic and foreign employees of certain public companies, 
     and for other purposes.

  The message further announced that the House has agreed to the 
following resolution:

       H. Res. 635. Resolution relative to the death of the 
     Honorable Elijah E. Cummings, a Representative from the State 
     of Maryland.
