                    SENIOR PASTOR BOB COUNTS RETIRES

  Mr. COOK. Madam Speaker, Senior Pastor Counts follows in the 
footsteps of both his father and grandfather, who served as pastors for 
their respective congregations. Additionally, three of his brothers, 
two of his sons, and his nephew are all pastors while his sister is 
married to a pastor. He became a minister in 1964 and is a graduate of 
Bible Baptist College in Springfield, Missouri.
  Senior Pastor Counts has served communities across the country as a 
pastor at Stillwelll Bible Baptist in Clarksville, Arkansas, Temple 
Baptist in Springdale, Arkansas, and Valley Baptist in Rowland Heights, 
California. For the past 23 years, he has served my constituents as 
senior pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Victorville. His 55 years of 
dedicated service will end in distinction, as he becomes only the 
fourth retired pastor among the church's 1,200 members.
  Though Senior Pastor Bob Counts is retiring, his work will continue 
to be felt through his life-long service and dedication to his faith. 
He will be passing the reigns of senior pastor to his son, Joel Counts. 
Over the course of his career he has touched innumerable lives, and his 
passion, caring, and selflessness will truly be missed as he begins a 
well-deserved retirement
