                           EXECUTIVE CALENDAR

  Mrs. BLACKBURN. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the 
Senate proceed to executive session to consider the following 
nomination: Executive Calendar No. 499.

ordered.
  The clerk will report the nomination.
  The bill clerk read the nomination of Hugh Nathanial Halpern, of 
Virginia, to be Director of the Government Publishing Office.
  Mrs. BLACKBURN. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the 
Senate vote on the nomination with no intervening action or debate.
  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Without objection, it is so

  The question is, Will the Senate advise and consent on the Halpern 
nomination?
