                                 PRAYER

  Monsignor Stephen J. Rossetti, Catholic University of America, 
Washington, D.C., offered the following prayer:
  Good and gracious God, as we begin this new year, we do so with a 
great hope.
  We know that You are with us and want to guide our every step.
  We ask a special grace upon all those who will serve here.
  May Your presence fill this space and our hearts, inspiring us to 
love all our sisters and brothers and to serve them in humility and 
peace.
  We make this prayer in Your holy name.
  Amen.
